Solomon Islands defeated fellow Wantoks Vanuatu by three goals to One in an International friendly at Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara.

It was a tough match-up, but Solomon Islands scored early in the seventeenth minute through a goal by Dennis Ifunao, but Solomon Warriors forward Kensi Tangis equalized one minute later to level the score line.

The first half ended by one all after forty five minutes of exciting football.

The second half started in style with the introduction of Micha Lea’alafa, replacing Atkin Kaua and heavily influencing the game early on.

Micah’s fancy footwork’s and pace paid off in the fifty third minute after he collected a through ball by captain Benjamin Totori to round up the Vanuatu goal keeper, and easily sending the ball inside the net.

Joses Nawo added the final blow in the eighty- third minute to secure a win for the hosts, ending the game by three goals to one.

Solomon Islands will now travel out tomorrow to face Taiwan in Taipei.
