$5.9M RELEASED FOR SOLOMON GAMES
Solomon Islands Government has released $5.9 million for the Solomon Games which is currently underway in Honiara.
This was announced by the Permanent Secretary of Home Affairs Ministry, Mr George Palua in an interview today.
“The Contingency Warrant approved by the Cabinet was $5.9 million which the Ministry is now spending and we hope it will cover all the costs we have to meet for the Games.”
He adds, his ministry accessed the funds Tuesday this week.
“I think the Government is able to give us the funds allocated for the Games and we have been able to have access to the funds from Tuesday and as the PS I’ve signed the contracts for accommodation and catering services and other services and a few more contracts to sign and the processed and tomorrow Friday they should start to access their funds.”
