ADDITIONAL POLICE OFFICERS DEPLOYED TO MONO, SHORTLANDS
The Royal Solomon Islands Police has deployed additional police officers to Mono, Shortland Islands yesterday.
Deputy Police Commissioner Juanita Matanga says the officers will replace those sent earlier to monitor the logging conflict recently experienced by communities on the Island.
She says the additional police presence have helped diffuse the situation in Mono.
Meanwhile, Police officers have also been sent to Rennell in Rennell Bellona Province to monitor issues relating to mining and logging.
She says the officers will assist those on the ground maintain law and order.
