PNG BUSINESSES OPENED DOORS TO SOLOMON MADE PRODUCTS
Businesses in Papua New Guinea are opening their doors to local products by women in Solomon Islands.
A team from SIWIBA on the invitation of PNG women attended the Business Women Expo in Papua New Guinea last month where they showcased local products and developed contacts with the businesses there.
SIWIBA President Dalcy Tekulu says women in Solomon Islands now have markets available in PNG.
“And already some who have gift shops and those who come from places that have tourist destinations in Papua New Guinea, they want to have a variety of their products so they already placed their orders on what they want. So we will have to organise our women who are involved in those products to maintain that market.”
Mrs Tekulu says there is a high demand for our local shell money necklaces and earrings, and coconut bowls in PNG.
