FORMER PARLIAMENTARIAN APPEARED IN COURT
Former Member of Parliament Francis Orodani yesterday appeared before the High Court.
The hearing was to allocate another Judge to hear his case.
Mr Orodani is charged with one count of a false declaration and one count of forging signatures with intent to defraud.
He has applied to stay the criminal proceedings against him.
His case was assigned to be heard before Justice Francis Manesalua, but the prosecution sought that another judge hear the case.
They said Justice Manesalua and the former M-P knew each other and this could affect the case.
Yesterday during the hearing, Justice Manesalua granted that the case be referred to the registrar to list before another Judge.
The Court will hear next week who will preside over the case
