NEW MISS SOLOMON ISLANDS CROWNED
The 2015 Miss Solomon Islands competition now has a new winner after a crowning event was held in Honiara last night.
She is Miss Deeane Enoch, the Miss Mokolo Enterprises contestant.
The 25-year-old Miss Deeane is from the Western Province and is a law student at the University of Papua New Guinea.
The theme for this year’s competition is: “Our Women, Our Equal Partners.”
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare was the guest of honour during last night’s 2015 Miss Solomon Islands crowning night.
In his address, Prime Minister Sogavare said the theme is a bold statement premised on a vision to see Solomon Islands women as equal partners with men in all spheres of the society.
He said the Government will help send Miss Deeane to the regional competition to be held in the Cook Islands next month.
