LEADER OF INDEPENDENT COMMENDED SINU FOR MOU
The Leader of the Parliamentary Independent Group, Dr. Derek Sikua has commended the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) and the Pukyong National University of South Korea.
A statement from the Independent office said this resulted from the support given by the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) for making it possible to conduct the Bachelor of Fisheries Program at SINU.
Mr. Sikua said this is welcoming news for Solomon Islands as the program will contribute to the country’s human resource development in terms of Fisheries development, which contributes to the national economy of Solomon Islands.
Dr. Sikua urged the University to continue embarking on similar programs with other sectors of the economy such as agriculture to broaden the country’s economic base in the future.
He adds, having the Fisheries program at the University will boost the opportunities for Fisheries graduates to be employed in diverse sectors in the country.
