HEALTH AUTHORITY DEFENDS MICHAEL GREEN
The Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) has defended its Infrastructure Adviser Mr. Michael Green in response to the call by Forum Solomon Islands International for his removal.
FSII claims, Mr. Green is responsible for the decision to halt repair works carried out by Tropical Glass and Aluminum (TGA) at the operating theatres of the National Referral Hospital.
But in his response, Ministry of Health and Medical Services’ Permanent Secretary, Dr Tenneth Dalipada says the ministry has adequately explained the circumstances surrounding its decision to halt repair works and there is nothing to Mr Green’s removal.
Dr Dalipada says the ministry values Mr Green’s contribution in improving the infrastructure of the NRH and has every confidence that he will continue to work in the best interest of the hospital and the nation.
Meanwhile, Dr Dalipada has announced that repair works to the two operating theatres of the NRH are proceeding as planned.
He adds, the hospital has other operating theatres which are functional despite the closure of the two operating theatres.
Dr Dalipada says, NRH will continue to require further maintenance and repairs in the future and assures the NRH staff will continue to perform to their utmost best to serve patients.
