Be courageous is the encouragement by the 2016 US Secretary of State-Solomon Islands Women of Courage Award recipient Dr. Alice Pollard.
Speaking during her award presentation last night in Honiara, Dr. Pollard called on everyone to be courageous.
“I want to encourage us wherever we are, in our homes, in our workplace, in our communities, and in our churches, be courageous. Let us all be courageous women and men, girls and boys in our happy Ilse Solomon Islands.”
Dr. Pollard adds she is very humbled to receive the award.
“I am humbled to receive this Women of Courage Award 2016 this afternoon. I accept this award also on behalf of many ordinary Solomon Island women and men, girls, and boys who have been with me on this journey of showing courage and many situations that demanded courage.”
Dr. Alice Pollard is the tenth recipient of the award since it started in 2006.
