The key to unraveling the country’s many potentials is to have a meaningful infrastructure development program in place, said Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare.

Prime Minister Sogavare made the comments at the recent opening of the country’s second international berthing in Honiara.

He said it cannot be over emphasised that infrastructure development is key to all sustainable development.

“It cannot be emphasised enough that infrastructure development is key to sustainable development and all Solomon Islands Governments that have beheld the reign of power had placed great importance in setting a realistic infrastructure development program for the country and the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government is no exception.”

The Prime Minister added, the key to unraveling the country’s potential lies in developing a meaningful infrastructure plan.

“As a matter of fact, the key to unraveling the many potentials of this country is to have in place a meaningful infrastructure development program that is strategically located in strategic locations in the country, targeting our areas of strength. I acknowledge of course this is an area that is beyond the capacity of the country to sustain and we have been able to progress it only with the assistance of our development partners.”
