SOLOMON’S AMBASSADOR TO INDONESIA PRESENTS PAPERS
Solomon Islands first Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, Salana Kalu has presented his credentials to Indonesia’s President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
A press release from the Government Communications Unit yesterday says, Ambassador Kalu presented his credentials on Monday in a closed ceremony at the ‘Instana Merdeka Palace’ in Jakarta.
Ambassador Kalu presented his credentials along with Ambassadors of Myanmar, Sri Lanka, the Peoples Republic of China, and the Republic of Korea.
After the official ceremony, Ambassador Kalu and the other four Ambassadors were given opportunities to converse privately with the Indonesian President.
Salana Kalu is the first Solomon Islands Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo will officially open the Solomon Islands Embassy in Indonesia early next month.
Indonesia will be the Prime Minister’s final stop of his current three legged international trip.
A statement from the Government Communications Unit said, the newly established Solomon Islands Embassy in Jakarta has been in operation since May 21 this year.
The Embassy will be officially opened on August 5.
