Solomon Ports Donates new Baby Resuscitaire to National Referral Hospital’s Pediatric Ward

In a significant contribution to healthcare advancement, Solomon Ports has handed over a cutting-edge Baby Resuscitaire (Baby warmer ) to the Pediatric Ward of the National Referral Hospital (NRH) yesterday.

The handover ceremony took place between Mr. Eranda Kotelawala, Chief Executive Officer of Solomon Ports, and Dr. Titus Nasi, Head of the Department of Pediatrics at NRH, witnessed by SIPA Executive management team , and staff of the pediatric ward at NRH.

SIPA CEO, Mr. Eranda Kotelawala hands over the new machine to Dr. Titus Nasi , head of the Pediatrics ward, flanked by SIPA team, and NRH Pediatrics staff.

The event marked a remarkable step forward in enhancing the hospital’s capacity to provide state-of-the-art medical care to newborns and infants.

As stated by Dr Titus Nasi, this is the first ever machine to have at NRH with such extra features for the Pediatric ward.

Mr. Eranda Kotelawala, CEO of Solomon Ports, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We proud to give one of the best machines available in the market, and as a responsible SOE we do have a responsibility to support the community and our hospital,” he said.

“The future of Solomon Islands is the newborns , if we have healthy newborns then we will have a healthy future.”

Dr. Titus Nasi, Head of the Department of Pediatrics, shared his gratitude, saying, “We are extremely grateful to Solomon Ports for this generous donation. This new Baby Resuscitaire will significantly enhance our ability to provide critical care to newborns, especially those in need of immediate resuscitation and temperature stabilization.

“The new features of the Resuscitaire will greatly assist our medical staff in delivering the highest quality care to our youngest
patients.”

The advanced Baby Resuscitaire boasts features such as, Precise Temperature Control: The resusciter’s advanced temperature control system ensures accurate regulation of the infant’s body temperature, Adaptive Resuscitation Modes: The equipment offers a range of resuscitation modes tailored to the specific needs of infants, improving the efficacy of lifesaving interventions, Oxygen support system, Digital scale , and Phototherapy , which uses light to improve a babies condition.
