For first time voter Lloyd Waikera, casting his ballot paper today means choosing a representative in Parliament who can support youths with innovative initiatives.

Mr Waikera told SIBC News that he is interested in sports and wants a representative who can empower youths in his community in Gagara through sports.

He said education is important and he wants a representative who have a heart to support students and parents on school fees.

“Many youths in our community didn’t go through formal education and I’m casting my ballot paper for a leader who can come up with initiatives to empower youths to become leaders themselves.”

“Job creation is also another important thing. From my point of view, youths should be supported with job opportunities such as the seasonal work scheme,” Waikera said.

Lloyd is one of the 244 voters who cast his votes at the Gagara Polling Station in East Choiseul Constituency.
