PARENTS CONCERNED OVER UNEXPLODED ORDINANCES
Parents of Nila Primary School in Shortland Island, Choisuel Province has questioned the slow response from Choiseul Provincial Police Force to deal with unexploded bombs in the school compound.
SIBC stringer, John Kotaru reported it is more than three months now since the threat was reported to Choiseul Police and the Bomb Disposal Unit of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force.
Mr Kotaru said parents now call on the acting Police Commissioner Juanita Matanga to quickly dispatch a team from the bomb disposal unit to handle the situation.
“More than three months had passed since parents reported the matter to the police at Kulitanai base to be reported to the bomb disposal unit, but nothing happened until now. Concerned parents of Nila Parish Primary School are calling on the Acting Police Commissioner to quickly deploy a bomb disposal team to remove the unexploded ordinances or dispose them off as soon as possible.”
