PARTIES COMMISSION CONFIRMED FOUR PARTIES SIGNED AGREEMENT
The Office of the Political Parties Integrity Commission confirms, it has received a signed coalition agreement by four political parties, Saturday evening – the Coalition highly likely to form the next government.
Registrar of the Political Parties Commission, Calvin Ziru says, the evidence supported with 29 PPI FORM 2 submission and a possible addition of four other members, his office is satisfied, the ‘Solomon Islands People’s Democratic Coalition’ commands the numerical strength to form the government.
“We are obliged to rely on the document that we have with the membership forms that we have to say that as per the coalition agreement we received from the Democratic Alliance Party, the Solomon Islands Party for Rural Advancement, People First Party and People’s Alliance Party with the support of 29 forms and the undertaking of additional three or four membership forms that we expect to be submitted, they have the current position as majority to form government.”
Mr Ziru adds, his office is now reviewing the submission before submitting the grouping to the Governor General later this week.
Meanwhile, he says some Degree of unpredictability is still there but the rules and regulations under the Political Parties Integrity Act keep individual MPs at bay.
