POLICE RECORDED 37 DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASES FOR NOV-DEC 2014
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has called on community and church leaders to report cases of family violence so that police could deal with them.
A statement from the police said they have received a total of 37 domestic violence cases so far, for the months of November to December.
It adds this figure exclude cases received from police stations and posts.
Meanwhile, speaking in his media conference recently Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast calls on victims of domestic violence, community and church leaders to report any issues of domestic violence to the police.
“To anyone who’s had any issues with this type of violence or they think they may be offended can seek help through their community leaders, church leaders or counselling and as I said the victims should officially report the matter to the police so that we can deal with it.”
