NEW ANGLICAN CHURCH IN NORTH MALAITA CONSECRATED
People of North Malaita have joined in a two days program to consecrate a new Anglican Church in the area.
SIBC’s Bita’ama stringer for North Malaita John Andrew Kiri reports, the new Church building was consecrated at Fourau village in Fo’ondo North Malaita.
Mr. Kiri says the event went on for two days last week.
People from almost all Christian denominations witnessed the ceremony.
Mr. Kiri adds Malaita Diocesan Bishop, Father Sam Sahu officiated the church consecration.
“The main purpose of the gathering with a church service starting at 7am the next day and because it’s the way the Anglican Communion consecrates a new church building, full processions around and inside the building were held. The church now has a new name and that is St Thomas. The whole process was followed by a holy communion mass.”
