Archbishop Cardone Returns to the Archdiocese of Honiara after a Week for Ordination in Washington DC.
His Grace Archbishop Christopher Cardone, O.P., has returned to the Archdiocese of Honiara on May 29, 2024, after being away for more than one week for the ordination of five Dominican brothers to the priesthood. The ordination ceremony took place on Saturday, May 25, at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
In his homily according to the report made by the Dominican Friars Foundation article, Archbishop Cardone OP, a Dominican friar of the Province of St. Joseph and archbishop of Honiara in the Solomon Islands, addressed the newly ordained priests with an inspiring message.
He urged them to “Be apostles of hope and mercy. Be men of prayer. Be friends of Jesus who bring light and life and the good news of the Gospel to all people, conscious with great certainty that the love of the Lord is the fruit that endures, and the fruit that lasts forever.”
Among the newly ordained priests was Christopher Daniel, who had previously served as a lay missionary at the Holy Name of Mary Seminary in the Solomon Islands from 2017 to 2018.
