AUSTRALIA EXPECTS TO PROVIDE AUD$32-M OVER NEXT 4 YEARS

Australian Government expects to provide AUD$32 million for Solomon Islands Government over the next four years.

The Australian High Commissioner Mr Andrew Byrne confirmed this during his opening remarks at the ‘Great Debate’ event this week in Honiara.

Mr Byrne says the fund is to support basic education development in Solomon Islands.

This include supporting primary teaching and learning and improving literacy and numeracy in the country.

“We are providing over the next four years, AUD$32 million for basic education in Solomon Islands. Our primary focus is on teaching and learning and improving literacy and numeracy in primary schools around the country.”
