Avaiki rugby club has once again won the Iumi Kaban Easter rugby sevens tournament in Honiara last Saturday.

A media statement from Solomon Islands Ruby Union Federation said Avaiki overcame their rivals Diesel Services by 21 to five in an epic grand final in front of rugby fans and the public last weekend.

The win resulted from a perfect combination and coordination of the Avaiki team after the final whistle.

Avaiki won a $3,000 cash prize, followed by Diesel Services winning $1,800 as the second prize.

Solly Seuika of Avaiki won the top try scorer and George of Diesel walked away with the player of the tournament trophy.
