The ordination of a Catholic Priest in Russell Islands over the weekend has been hailed a historical event for the people of Russell Islands.

SIBC’s North West Guadalcanal Stringer John Toki who accompany the delegation to Russell Islands over the weekend says the ordination of the priest is the first of its kind to be held and witnessed by people of Russell Islands.

He says Arch Bishop Adrian Smith officiated the ordination of the priest.

The event was witnessed by Russell Islanders and guests from Honiara on Saturday the 20th of December.
