CAUSE Introduces Grass Cutting Team
The Community Access and Urban Services Enhancement (CAUSE) Project today has introduced its grass cutting team.
The grass cutting team is a new initiative added on to the current street cleaning being conducted on the main street of Honiara City.
The team will focus on grass cutting along the main street from Poha River on the Western side to Alligator on the Eastern side of the city.
The team assignment will be for 20 days, thereafter another new group will be selected to carry out grass cutting.
While Street cleaning is an ongoing activity provided by the project, it also advices the public to take responsibility in keeping Honiara City clean.
The CAUSE project was established by the government in 2018 and financed by the World Bank aimed at improving basic infrastructure and basic services through the provision of basic skills, training, short term job opportunities, and income generation for vulnerable population in targeted urban centers of Solomon Islands.
It is implemented by the Honiara City Council (HCC) and the Ministry of Infrastructure Development (MID) with support from the provincial governments of Guadalcanal, Malaita and Western Province.
