A chief from the Abukwaiara tribe, East Malaita has called for consultations between landowning tribes of the Auluta Basin palm oil nursery land parcel.

Chief Timothy Labesau made the call after seeing no progress on the national Auluta basin palm oil project due to land dispute.

Mr. Labesau says consultations between the Abukwaiara, Fo’oka and Kwarifau landowning tribes will allow them identify possible areas to kick off the palm oil nursery.

He says, the Auluta palm oil project is an opportunity for East Malaita to host a national project – it needs serious consideration from all landowning tribes.

Meanwhile, the Abukwaiara Chief calls on the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock to assist tribes in finding possible ways to implement the agriculture project.
