Consul General of Solomon Islands to Canada to attend launch reception in recognition of the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla

The Hon. Consul General of Solomon Islands to Canada His Excellency Mr.  Ashwant Dwivedi has accepted an invitation from the Lieutenant Governor to join a lunch reception to be held on 5th May (6th May UK time) in recognition of the Coronation of their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

The reception will be hosted at the Government House in Canada ahead of the Coronation which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 6 May 2023, at Westminster Abbey.

Mr. Dwivedi said that It would be both an honour and privilege to represent Solomon Islands that continues to be an important, valued members of the commonwealth Realm. 

King Charles III visited Solomon Islands in November 2019 when he gave his speech in pidgin to the joy of the crowd that attended at Lawson Tama stadium.

King Charles III also reigns over 14 other countries in addition to the United Kingdom as the Head of State. 

These countries include Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.
