A West Honiara voter says the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government must quickly gazette the Constituency Development Fund Regulations.

Charles Lesimaoma made the call today in an interview with SIBC News.

Mr Lesimaoma says it has been two years since the bill was passed in parliament and having no regulations can only mean MPs still using discretion over these funds.

“Our outgoing Prime Minister of the last government Gordon Darcy Lilo and the MP for West Honiara Namson Tran have initiated this bill and I would like to say well done and good job. Stand tall in the quality of leadership that the both of you have shown because you have stood for the people’s money so that it can be fairly distributed to the people of this country. At the same time I am calling on the DCC Government and its cabinet to rethink and gazette the regulation so that they can implement them.”

Parliament had passed the Constituency Development Fund Act in 2013.
