The Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government has donated $60,000 towards the recent Youth Market event in Honiara.

Youth@Work office today says the Ministry of Commerce has pledged the funding as a move to ensure more youth are involved in business ventures that contribute to the national economy.

The funding enabled Youth@Work together with the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) to organize the event which provided an avenue for the young entrepreneurs to sell their products and promote their services.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Commerce, Industries and Employment, Hon. William Bradford Marau encourages youth to create business opportunities for themselves.

Minister Marau emphasised, young people should always take responsibility and contribute positively to the nation as young business men and women.

SIBC News understands Youth@Work programme is an initiative to tackle youth unemployment in the country.
