DPP ORDERED TO INFORM COURT ON BSP ROBBERY CASE
A Principal Magistrate has ordered the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to inform Court on the progress of investigations into the Bank South Pacific (BSP) Bank robbery in Auki, late last year.
The five men charged with robbery; John Kiki, Nelson Ansolo, Solomon Wadily, Patrick Talo and Peter Kafu appeared yesterday morning behind bars.
Their appearance was for the Court to hear their bail applications.
After their applications were presented, the two defence counsels who appeared with them expressed concerns at the ongoing investigations of the case.
George Grey and Lazarus Kwaiga said the investigations have taken a very long time.
Mr Kwaiga told the Court an update on the status of investigations should be provided.
Magistrate Shepard Lapo agreed that it’s been six months now since investigations have started.
He ordered that the prosecutor in the carriage of the case inform the Court by this Friday on the progress of the investigation.
