DRY SEASON MAY FORCE NAFINUA CLINIC TO CLOSE
The current dry weather may force the Nafinua Clinic in East Malaita to close its doors.
Early this week SIBC’s Charlie Salini reports, Nafinua Clinic Senior Officer, Mrs Jelna Zama says water supply at Nafinua Clinic has been rationed to evenings only.
This is exerting so much pressure on the medical services in the region.
“They are having difficulties in terms of providing services to their patients here in this part of East Malaita. He said water supply here at the clinic is not working properly as the pressure is very low.”
Mr Salini adds authorities are considering the worst – ‘close the clinic’ if the water crisis persists.
“He said if the dry season continues for the next few months they will suspend clinic operations here.”
