EARLY ANNOUNCEMENT OF ELECTION DATE WOULD HELP PLANS: LULEI

The managing Director of Isabel Development Company, IDC, shipping Dennis Lulei says travelling agencies have the right to know soon, the date for this year’s National General Elections.

Mr Lulei, also a former MP told SIBC News today it is important for the country’s travelling agencies to know the date in order to prepare for the elections.

He says he does not see any reason why the date is still being kept secret and questions why it has not been announced yet.

Meanwhile, the Electoral Office Commission maintains the election date will only be announced by the Governor General.

It says there is no agenda behind the delay of the announcement, they are following all the right procedures.
