FANALEI COMMUNITY NOW HAS FISHING RAFT

The Fishery Department in Auki, Malaita province has launched a fishing raft at Fanalei community in South Malaita today.

The fishing raft is a project funded by the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources which aims to promote inshore fisheries in the country.

Afio Fisheries Officer Charles Bole told SIBC News, the raft will benefit fishermen in the community.

“This is a raft that will not be located far offshore but just enough for people to reach by paddling their canoes and even the young can be able to paddle out to it.”
