FINANCE MINISTER SIGNED ADDITIONAL REP FUNDS
The Minister of Finance and Treasury Hon. Snyder Rini today signed an additional financing agreement of USD$1.5 million for the extension of the Rapid Employment Project.
The additional finance is an initiative from the World Bank to rehabilitate and upgrade roads in Honiara to be resistant to floods
and future climate related stresses.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Minister Rini says, the funding is really a great assistance for the Honiara City Council and the
Ministry of Infrastructure Development.
He calls for accountable implementation of the fund.
“Make sure that this fund is implemented properly and I am sure that MID and the Honiara City Council they have a committee in trying to manage the fund and that’s my only concern that it should be managed properly as we are very lucky to have this fund.”
