FORMER C.B.S.I EMPLOYEE CONVICTED IN COURT
The High Court this morning convicted a former Central Bank employee for stealing more than $1.7 million in old bank notes between 2007 and 2009.
Handing down the judgement this morning, Justice Leonard Maina says Bogoni’s admission during his interview with the Police was the basis of his conviction.
Justice Maina says while the prosecution’s evidence was circumstantial, his admission showed he was guilty of the charges.
Bobongi is convicted of 39 counts of money laundering and two counts of larceny and embezzlement.
His sentencing submissions will be presented to the Court on the 30th of this month.
He has been remanded in custody.
