Former Dutch international appointed new Bonito coach
Former Dutch international WIm Rijsbergen has been announced as the coach of the Solomon Islands national team to the PacificGames in Apia, Samoa.
Rijsbergen played in 1974 in the lost World Cup final against the then West Germany. He also appeared in the 1978 FIFA WorldCup.
He was an assistant manager of Trinidad & Tobago at the 2006 FIFA World Cup before being named manager after the World Cup.
He was until recently the Technical Director for the Indonesian football federation.
Rijsbergen’s contract is for 3 months and the deal includes a tour for the national team in Netherlands prior to the Pacific Games.
