Former Premier of Malaita Province, Richard Namo Irosaea says weak government organs are set up to ensure good governance, transparency and accountability.
Former Premier Irosaea said the government organs are the Ombudsman, Leadership Code Commission and the Auditor General’s Office.
Mr Irosaea said the Judiciary and the Police which meant to correct law breakers are also weak.
Mr Irosaea says the direct result is the high level of official corruption in Solomon Islands.
He said, the Public Service does not help to ensure good governance, transparency and accountability.
Mr Irosaea blames the public service for corruption in the country because its members are engaged in corrupt practices when executing government instructions.
He supports the People’s Alliance Party announcement end out official corruption in Solomon Islands if it leads the new government after the upcoming national elections later this year.
