Premier for Guadalcanal Province Anthony Veke has called on the national government to lead a meaningful national reconciliation and healing process that is not propagated.

Premier Veke made the statement in his speech to mark the Guadalcanal Province 32nd Appointed Day, Monday this week.

Mr. Veke said leading a meaningful reconciliation, healing processes and rehabilitation is of the nation’s interest.

He said the national government should consider addressing the causes of frustration, fears and the uncertainty of the people to move Solomon Islands forward.

“We need to address the causes of the people’s frustration and fears and uncertainties. This is what the National Government should be doing right now, for we can only build Solomon Islands if we address the fundamental issues of the people and unite them with their resources and give them back their right to their inheritance.”
