GROUNDBREAKING DATE FOR KUKUM HIGHWAY YET TO BE SET
The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and its development partners have ‘again’ proposed to launch the planned groundbreaking ceremony for the Kukum Highway project late next month or early September.
Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Infrastructure Development Mr Henry Murray confirms to SIBC News today though the actual date is yet to be confirmed.
“Plans are in place for a groundbreaking ceremony which supposed to be held towards the end of August or early September. The date is still to be fixed for this event.”
Mr. Murray says this means construction phase of the project should begin immediately afterwards.
“Once the groundbreaking was held then that means the construction should also start.”
SIBC News understands the Kukum Highway project construction has been promised since late last year.
