GUADALCANAL PROVINCE TOUGHENS BUSINESS LAWS
Guadalcanal Province has taken tough steps to monitor public transport service providers who registered under the Honiara City Council (HCC) Business License and serving within the Guadalcanal Provincial boundary.
Guadalcanal Provincial Revenue Officer, Terry Vekea told SIBC News they have recently conducted a road check which identified
unregistered transport services within the provincial boundary.
“When we conducted the operation at the Eastern side of the Aligator Creek, a lot of buses have been detained at the Henderson airport police station and we’ve advised the bus drivers and conductors as well as taxi drivers to pay up their full business licenses.”
He adds, the checks will be extended to other business vehicles including vehicles for hire.
Mr Vekea said they will closely work with the police to ensure legal business operations within the Guadalcanal Provincial boundary.
