HCC STAFF RECEIVED SALARY INCREASE

The Honiara City Council (HCC) staff have been given a five percent increase in their salary as a result of continuous negotiations between the Workers Union of Solomon Islands and the Council to increase staff salary by five percent.

HCC Chief Administration Officer Don Houkura confirmed the increase in a media statement today and said it has been endorsed by the current HCC executive.

Acknowledging the HCC leadership, Mr Houkura said this is the first time for such an increase, adding it also came about after the Council has promoted and re-leveled some of its staff members.

He said the HCC staff welcomed the increment and thanked the Council’s leadership under City Mayor Alfrence Fatai.
