The Spokesperson for the ‘Be Happy Ministry’ urges the Honiara City Council to reinstate the Hawker licence Act currently on suspension.

Mambo Fangaria told SIBC News, the Council’s ban on the selling of apples is not fair and depriving citizens of their rights to earn money.

He says the Council should review the Hawker’s licence and include permits for street selling.

Mr Fangaria was arrested recently at the Westward China Tow bus-stop for selling apples without a hawker’s licence.

Meanwhile, recent media reports have quoted the Honiara City Clerk Charles Kelly assuring street sellers that as of next month, a legal advisor will be engaged by H-C-C to review the city Acts and ordinances, so they might have a chance.

But Mr Kelly says there is nothing the Council can do at this time.
