H.E. Kaul concludes tenure as Papua New Guinea High Commissioner to Solomon Islands

Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, Hon. Jeremiah Manele has officially bid farewell to His Excellency (H.E) Moses Kaul, the High Commissioner of Papua New Guinea to the Solomon Islands, marking the conclusion of his successful tour of duty.

During his final courtesy visit to Prime Minister Manele, H.E. Kaul expressed his deep appreciation for the enduring and valuable partnership between the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea. 

He emphasized that the relationship is strengthened by shared people-to-people connections, traditional and family ties, and a strong sense of Melanesian unity.

H.E. Kaul reflected on his tenure, stating that his time in Solomon Islands has been highly rewarding. 

He reiterated Papua New Guinea’s commitment to the relationship with the Solomon Islands, particularly in the context of Melanesian leadership and cooperation.

He noted the significant progress in several key sectors, especially in trade and investment, with Papua New Guinea being the largest investor in Solomon Islands—demonstrating the trust and confidence in the country’s leadership. 

Prime Minister Manele acknowledged and expressed gratitude for the substantial contributions of H.E. Kaul to strengthen the bilateral ties between the two nations. 

He also highlighted the valuable assistance from Papua New Guinea in supporting Solomon Islands’ preparations to host the Pacific Islands Forum later this year.

The Prime Minister further recognized Papua New Guinea’s generous support in the area of scholarships, which aligns with the Solomon Islands Government’s Human Capital Policy.

Other areas of collaboration discussed included Western Border security management and the SI-PNG Chamber of Commerce. 

Prime Minister Manele reaffirmed Solomon Islands’ continued support and partnership with Papua New Guinea, and pledged cooperation with the incoming High Commissioner to further advance the relationship between the two countries.
