HAOMAE REPORTED TO HAVE RESIGNED FROM PNG POST
Solomon Islands High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea, William Haomae is reported to have resigned from his diplomatic posting.
Freelancer George Atkin reports, relatives from Small Malaita in Malaita Province say Mr Haomae will return to Honiara on March 28 – which is Friday next week.
But the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Beraki Jino said in Honiara today that he too has heard the story about Mr. Haomae resigning from his Port Moresby Office.
Mr. Jino however adds he has not received any official notification from Mr. Haomae on whether or not he has actually resigned.
He says for the moment the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade will continue to treat the Haomae story as a rumour.
