HEAVY RAIN ALERTS CANCELLED FOR SOLOMON ISLANDS
The Solomon Islands Meteorological Service has cancelled all heavy rain alerts for the country.
A Heavy Rain Alert Cancellation issued by the Met Service at 5:00pm this evening confirmed the cancellation.
A Heavy Rain Alert which was previously issued for All the provinces is now cancelled.
The heavy rain alert was due to a weak trough lying southwest of the Solomon Islands whilst a general southeasterly trade wind flow persists over the Islands.
Associated cloud and areas of heavy rain showers are now slowly easing.
However, the Met Service advised that people do not attempt to cross flooding rivers and large streams of unknown depth
