HIGH COURT TO RULE ON PM’S DEFAMATION CASE TOMORROW
The High Court will rule tomorrow if the Solomon Star Company Limited can defend itself in Court against a defamation suit by Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo.
The defamation suit is in relation to allegations the paper published of a sex scandal involving Prime Minister Lilo, of which he has since publicly denied.
The paper however failed to file a response to the lawsuit on time and the Prime Minister’s lawyer applied for a default judgement on the case.
A hearing to allow the paper to file a defense was conducted before Chief Justice Sir Albert Palmer yesterday.
During the hearing, Solomon Star’s lawyer asked the High Court to allow the paper to file a defense against the defamation suit.
Solomon Star is the third defendant in the civil suit.
