HIGH POWERED UOG DELEGATION IN HONIARA FOR GRAD
A high powered delegation from the University of Goroka, UOG, in Papua New Guinea is in Honiara to conduct and witness the university’s first ever offshore graduation in Honiara.
A statement from Goroka University says, 64 of its students will be graduating.
It says, the delegation will also be opening UOG’s Institute of Distance and Flexible Learning, IDFL, regional center for the Solomon Islands in Honiara.
The graduation will be taking place at the Maranatha Centre in Honiara on Thursday the 8th of May and will be attended by the Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands.
It says, from the 64 students who will be graduating, 32 are former students of the University of Goroka who graduated in absence in previous years, but would like to do a formal pass through on Thursday, in front of family and friends, and the remaining 32 graduates have just completed studies at UOG.
The IDFL office is temporarily registering students from its City Council Education Office building.
The statement adds, the course to be offered at the moment is Bachelor of Education in the School of Management.
It says, registration closes on May 16th 2014.
