IFIRA BLACK BIRD COACH HAPPY WITH TEAM’S PERFORMANCE
Ifira Black Bird Football Club Coach, Batram Suri says he is happy with his team’s performance during their friendly matches in Honiara.
The Vanuatu team flew into the country last week to play three matches against the country’s under 23 and two Solomon Islands renowned clubs, Kossa FC and Western United FC.
In an exclusive interview with SIBC Sports, Coach Suri says the team’s tour is to prepare the boys for the second round of the Vila League in Port Villa.
“The team took the tour to prepare for the second round of the Port Vila league which will start on the 27th of this month, so the purpose of this tour is to prepare for that league and also a better opportunity of exposure for the team, especially for the local players have never had outside experience before.”
Mr Suri adds one of the big impacts of the tour was the team has never lost any of their matches.
“A major impact is the fact that we never lost a game on our tour and this builds upon the team’s courage to compete in the local league upon our return. We believe we’ll do better than where we are now as the boys are getting exposure and will learn a lot from the teams we took on, especially those fielding some of our best players in the country.”
The Ifira Black Football Club and its officials flew out of the country this afternoon.
