IMPORTED GOODS SOON TO BE CONTROLLED
The Ministry of Health and Medical Services Food and Safety division will soon control goods imported into the country once their Import Control Manual is finalized.
Ministry Chief Health Inspector for Food and Safety, Ethel Mapolurevealed this in an interview with SIBC News.
She said the manual is currently in its draft stage and they are hopeful to roll it out before the year ends.
Mrs. Mapolu says once the manual is finalized they will control some of the imported products coming into the country.
“We have an Imported Food Control Manual in a draft stage and before the end of the year we should have that rolled out, which means we will control some of the goods coming into the country through our port of entry.”
