INFRASTRUCTURE FOR APRIL RIDGE TO START THIS YEAR
Chair of the Land Board, Donald Kudu has said infrastructure development for April Ridge should commence this year.
Mr Kudu said the current lack of infrastructure will significantly slow the building of homes for those who were awarded plots.
He says they hope to begin the infrastructure development this year.
“I hope that this year we will start to construct road infrastructure, social services like electricity and water so that we have something decent in terms of services to give people a little bit of environment that humans can live.”
The Land Board late last year awarded 225 plots for Fixed Term Estates (FTE) to victims of the 2014 April floods at April Ridge.
April Ridge located behind Naha, East Honiara, was allocated by the Gordon Darcy Lilo-led Government for people displaced by the floods.
