The Embassy of Japan in Honiara has announced, the Japanese Research Scholarship 2017 is open for eligible Solomon Islanders.

The Embassy’s Administrative Staff Mr. Yasuyuki Nitta says the scholarship is available for Solomon Islanders who wish to study Postgraduate Courses as research students under the Japanese
Government Scholarship program.

Mr. Nitta announces, applications will open on the 2th of May and closes on June 3rd.

“From May 2nd to June 3rd, Friday June 3rd is the deadline for applications and after that we are going to have a screening of the documents and all those who pass the screening test will move to conduct a written exam, which is June 9th.”

Meanwhile, the Embassy’s Assistant Researcher/Advisor Mr. Hudson Kalaeda says the Japanese Government offers 55 scholarships for Solomon Islanders to date.
