People’s honesty in Kirakira, the provincial capital of Makira Ulawa Province astonishes the newly appointed Provincial Secretary, James Taeburi.

PS Taeburi says what surprises him is most doors to the provincial head office stay open all night without being vandalised of their computers, laptops and office furniture and stationery.

Mr Taeburi relates how surprised he was on the first evening he decided to return to his office to finish off the day’s work only to find the main door of the whole building was open, likewise the doors to the various offices.

Mr Taeburi who had served other provinces and various departments in Honiara where doors were always locked after official hours decided to check the offices in case they had been vandalised.

He says to his relief and surprise, nothing whatsoever had been removed or tampered with.

Mr Taeburi told the Prime Minister’s Press Office, he has never seen anything like this before.
