KIU COMMUNITY HIGH SUSPENDS CLASSES DUE TO BAD WEATHER
Strong winds and rough seas have forced Kiu community school in West Are’are to suspend classes this week.
John Keni reports the school suspended its classes since Tuesday this week.
He says the school authority made that decision to ensure its students safety.
“Some of the students use to travel a long way from Wairaha river because they use canoes to come down, then they have to walk go up to school. So to avoid any accidents happening to the student, the Principal decided to close the school until the weather is suitable for classes to begin.”
Mr Keni adds it is likely the suspension continues next week.
